Exploring the Heart: The Translator of Our Human Experience

Vancouver, Canada | May 25 2025

The Canadian Friends of Sufi Arts, Culture and Knowledge (CFSACK) hosted an intimate and sold-out fundraiser at Vancouver’s historic Hycroft Manor, bringing together supporters, scholars, artists, and friends for an afternoon inspired by the wisdom of Sufi poetry. Led by poet and Poetry is Play founder Nirvona Soraya-Galo, guests explored themes of love, reflection, and human connection through interactive writing exercises rooted in the works of Omar Khayyam and Rumi.

Due to overwhelming interest, the event expanded to two sessions, each offering a warm and contemplative setting where participants engaged deeply with language and meaning, crafting original poetic compositions while enjoying tea, refreshments, and conversation in the music room and terrace of Hycroft Manor.

The afternoon featured a silent auction of original artwork and cultural objects, with proceeds supporting CFSACK’s charitable mission to advance public engagement with Sufi arts, culture, and scholarship. Guests also learned about CFSACK’s partnership with the Musée d’Art et de Culture Soufis MTO™ (MACS MTO) in France and the organization’s growing educational and cultural programs across Canada.

This gathering marked CFSACK’s first public program of 2025 and demonstrated a strong and growing community of supporters who value thoughtful, meaningful cultural experiences. We extend our sincere thanks to our donors, volunteers, partners, and the Poetry is Play team for helping bring this beautiful event to life.
